In an interview with BBC Arabic on the program “Al Mashhad”, Prince Moulay Hicham explained that he did not like the nickname given to him by the press, that of the “red prince”, preferring to be called by his real name, Hicham El Alaoui, like all Moroccan citizens.
In addition, the first cousin of King Mohammed VI claimed to visit Morocco regularly and “without any problem”. His last visit to the Kingdom dates back to a few months, more precisely during Eid Adha. “Yes, I’m going to Morocco without any problem. It is true that the country has several problems, but the situation is still more reassuring compared to other countries,” he said.
Recall that in an interview granted to France 24, Moulay Hicham had announced that he sent a letter to King Mohammed VI in which he asked the Sovereign to get rid of his title of prince.
