The presence of the pseudo “Rasd” at a TICAD meeting in Tokyo was a “big problem”

The presence of the so-called “Rasd” at the last ministerial meeting in preparation for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) “was a big problem” that Japan was prepared to overcome in order to “avoid shame” “Spokeswoman Mitsuko Shino of the Japanese Foreign Ministry said Monday that her country does not recognize this doll entity.

“We have good intentions to solve this problem”. The official visit to Morocco by the Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono is a “good gesture” in this direction, said Ms Mitsuko Shino, speaking at a press conference.

The Japanese Foreign Minister repeated, clearly and openly, during a press conference after his talks with his Moroccan counterpart, Mr. Nasser Bourita, that Japan does not recognize the nickname “Rasd” as a State, she said.

Kono repeated a clear position at the ministerial meeting to prepare the 7th summit of the Tokyo International Conference for Development in Africa (TICAD), held from 5 to 7 October in the capital of Japan.

This presence does not in any way mean that Japan recognizes this group as a state, implicitly or explicitly, according to Mr. Taro Kono.

On the occasion of this preparatory ministerial meeting of this summit, members of the “Polisario” entered Japan with Algerian passports and accredited with insignia of the Commission of the African Union (AUC).
