The Council of Government meeting exceptionally this Saturday, April 18 at 4:30 p.m. approved the draft decree N° 2.20.300 extending the state of health emergency in Morocco. Thus, the state of health emergency which was to end on April 20 is extended until May 20.
As part of the strengthening of preventive measures to combat the spread of the new coronavirus and taking into account the epidemiological situation of the Kingdom, the public authorities have decided to extend the state of health emergency until May 20, 2020, indicate the Interior and Health Ministries in a joint press release.
All the precautionary and repressive measures, from the first stage of the state of health emergency, always remain in force during this additional period while adapting them whenever it is necessary and this for the protection of citizens health, said the same source.
As in the previous period, the competent services will continue their actions to guarantee an adequate supply meeting the consumption needs of families in food products, medicines and all necessary products, including the needs of the holy month of Ramadan, with the mobilization of all services to ensure regular control and monitoring of the condition of commercial spaces and the efficiency of distribution channels.
As part of the strengthening of the national efforts deployed, the public authorities call on all citizens to the need to strictly respect the requirements of this delicate period and to adhere effectively to the implementation of the preventive measures taken, and to collaboration with agents of local authorities and security services, who ensure that they carry out their national duty with firmness and responsibility and apply legal procedures against any individual who deliberately violates the rules in force.
