Last year, 12.3 million foreign tourists and Moroccans living abroad (MRE) visited Morocco, an increase of 8% year-on-year, according to annual data from the Tourism Observatory.
This growth in arrivals can be explained by the dynamism of the issuing markets, Italy, Germany, France and Spain, where arrivals increased by 15%, 10%, 8% and 6% respectively.
For their part, overnight stays grew by 8.4%, with the two centers of Marrakech and Agadir accounting for 60% of overnight stays. Regarding revenues, they reach MAD 131.7 billion, up 6% year on year. Receiving tourism generating MAD 90.7 billion.
