Marrakech is the most popular African destination, according to the 2020 ranking of the most popular tourist destinations in the world published by the Traveller’s Choice Awards.

Described as a “magical place full of markets, gardens, palaces and mosques”, Marrakech is ahead of Zanzibar and Fez which complete the continental podium.

Cape Town in South Africa, Nairobi in Kenya, Essaouira in Morocco, Arusha in Tanzania, Overstrand in South Africa, Grand Baie in Mauritius and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe complete the Top 10 of the most popular African destinations.
