Travel and tourism agency TUI has announced the cancellation of its flights to Marrakech and Agadir after flights from Morocco were suspended.
Morocco’s decision to suspend air links with Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, will hurt several families in England and Wales who have already made reservations for their holidays in the kingdom.
“The Moroccan government has notified us of a regulatory change that affects flights from the UK to Morocco from October 21. As a result, we unfortunately had to cancel flights to Marrakech and Agadir until October 31, 2021 inclusive,” TUI announced, specifying that nearly 2000 vacationers will be stranded in Moroccan territory.
“We are contacting customers in order of departure date to discuss their options, which include a change to another destination or a full refund,” the tour operator added.
Travelers wishing to visit Morocco, despite the ban on direct flights with the United Kingdom, will however be able to pass through Spain and France, the British Foreign Office said.
