The elements of a customs brigade under the Inter-Provincial Directorate of Tetouan of the Administration of Customs and Excise (ADII), seized this morning, a quantity of 1925 kg of cannabis, representing a market value of nearly 19.25 million dirhams.
According to a customs source, the seizure of this “significant quantity” was carried out following an ambush on the road connecting Tetouan to Chefchaouen, at the level of the Commune Al-Hamra. He added that the drug, made up of 53 parcels, was seized aboard a utility vehicle carrying falsified license plates.
The customs pointed out that a gendarmerie brigade went to the place of the seizure to lend a hand to the elements of the customs.
