US Secretary Mike Pompeo said on Saturday he had been briefed on all US intelligence on the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
“There is no direct evidence linking Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the incident,” Pompeo said.
In an interview with the CNN television channel in Buenos Aires on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, the US official said: “I read every part of the intelligence reports that the US government has.”
“When this was done, and when this analysis was completed, there is no direct evidence linking the Saudi Crown Prince to the killing of Jamal Khashoggi”, he said in a statement.
“I can not comment on intelligence matters and the CIA’s findings”, Pompeo said.
