Wizz Air suspends flights to Morocco

The airline company Wizz Air will end the Dortmund-Marrakech connection. This suspension comes after the low-cost Hungarian has decided to close its bases in Dortmund and Riga.

Of the 41 routes included in the airline’s summer program, the one to Marrakech will be suspended due to the closure of the Dortmund base in Germany at the end of the summer season. Wizz Air also announced the closure of its base in Riga. Wizz Air intends through this measure to reallocate its capacities to better respond to the evolution of demand following the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the Hungarian low-cost said it has decided to close its Dortmund base and “take advantage of growth opportunities by reallocating capacity to other high-demand routes”. The German city will remain an integral part of the Wizz Air network and the airline will continue to connect Dortmund to more than 30 destinations in Europe, including the popular Sarajevo, Sofia, Belgrade, Budapest and many more.
